Crossed Lines - SOLD

Just got back from a couple of days in Seattle, I was hoping to get some good cityscape reference photos while I was there, we will have to see what's on the camera.
I saw this house in my neighborhood, the house itself looked so much like a Tim Horn painting (the bright light on one side of the building) I just had to paint it.I also liked the way the telephone pole went off the canvas and the shapes that the crossed wires form.

6x6inches :: oil on canvas

Reminds me of Stieglitz's photo "The Sterage" from 1909 in that there is a lyrical reference to the abstract forms that we coalesce into our view or recognition protocols. The works of Wolf Kahn haunt my celebration of this painting: the dynamic of contrasting the rectangularity of the constructed versus the tranquility of nature. Ted
