Been a while since I posted, but I have been busy! Here is the finished painting that I was working on when Oregon Public Broadcasting, Art Beats film crew, Katrina Sarson; Producer, audio tech Randy Layton, and videographer Greg Bond, came out to my studio to do some filming for the program. That was a fun thing to do. They are so professional... you can tell they have lots of years of experience working with many different kinds of artists.

Vine Tomatoes - sold
Summer tomatoes, fresh off the vine. Today is Gorge Grown Farmer's Market day, and I am on my way to check out what veggies they have that are the most paintable! They think I eat those vegetables I buy. Ok, I do eat most of them. Next week OPB is coming to my studio to do some filming for the Art Beats program, and I am probably going to take them to the farmer's market, to see my inspiration for summer veggies and fruit.

Blaney's Fava Beans
My painter friend, Blaney has a spot at the farmer's market, where she sells locally grown vegetables. I had never SEEN a fava bean, much less eaten one! Blaney told me they were great, (and they looked interesting to paint) so I got some. They are good to eat, and good to paint. The background color is sort of blue-gray laverdery, I thought it looked good with the fresh spring green of the beans. I don't know if the photo accurately captures this color.
