1119 SW Park Avenue - Mark Building - sold
This is a door to part of the Portland Art Museum. I was painting outside in the park across from the PAM today. The PAM is hosting the first invitational plein air event to celebrate their California Impressionism Exhibit from the Irvine Museum in California. The dates for this event are; August 4 & 5. I am very excited to be one of 50 artists invited to participate in this first ever event!
I have always liked painting architecture, this building has some history! It was originally built in 1925, as a Masonic Temple. It was a rock concert venue in the 60's and is now part of the Portland Art Museum. (I read that THE DOORS played there!) The building is now known as the Mark Building.

Congratulations on being invited. Sounds like a lot of fun! You did a great job here. I especially like the texture you achieved.
Hi Cathleen, Love how you handled this entry way. You have such an eye for composition. I'll look for you on the fourth cuz that's my neighborhood!
Congratulation and good luck Cathleen. This painting looks so good with the inviting red in the doorway.
GREAT painting of a beautiful entrance. Bravo!
Love the way you make this look so easy! Lovely painting:)
Looks like you're having fun. Congrats on being invited to this event. Wonderful work!
Fresh and powerful. This makes a statement about the light hitting the boor in a fabulous manner.
Great for me to see because I go there once a year when I visit the kids. I like their permanent collection
It was great seeing you down there painting away Cathleen, and thanks for sharing your work from the Park Blocks. Looking forward to a fun event!
