Serrano Composition - SOLD

All of these objects for the daily paintings are just opportunities to explore composition, value and shadows. They could be any object. But I do like the peppers, the bright colors and forms. This bunch of peppers really caught my eye in the grocery, with the different colors.

One of my favorite (and recent) subjects to paint. You did a fabulous job.

Beautiful design. I like the bowls below as well. I think I may move to Hood River. Maybe something in the water there makes you a better painter.

Very nice work Cathleen! What sort of light did you use for this? The highlights and shadows compliment the peppers.

Hi Saundra,
The light I used is a Chromalux full spectrum regular bulb light. It is in a regular aluminum stand light. I don't know if it is better than a regular incandescent bulb.

Thank you all for such encouraging comments!

I like your paintings very much, Cathleen. The brevity of your brush strokes and colors and edges. Really nice!
