A little landscape of oak trees around here, the Columbia Gorge area. I was trying out the water mixable oil paints with this little painting. They seem just like regular oil paints. I like the Holbein and Grumbacher Max. You need to use one of their water soluble linseed oils with them though.

Every object is a piece of sculpture that is a challenge to use all your best painting skills to try to successfully depict a sense of light falling on the object, and the colorful shadows as part of the composition.

Painting translucent objects is a challenge. The light shining through an object can be deceiving. It still produces a shadow even though light comes through it.
