Live Model, Portrait Sessions

model with green hat

the knitter

We are lucky to have "portrait sessions" at our local art center, Columbia Center for the Arts. These are a couple of my paintings from the past couple of weeks. We have a live model available every Friday from 9am - 12 noon. It's great practice to paint from a live model. The model on the top, wanted us to try painting her green hat, the painting on the bottom, looks like her eyes are closed, she is actually knitting while posing for us.

I like these two portraits! The green hat is really nice. How great to have live models every Friday.

Thanks Pam!
We have been doing this Portrait Session on Fridays for a long time now! We are getting some "regulars" who come almost every time, too. Some of us meet before - for coffee, or after - for lunch. You should come for a session, you will get hooked! It's only $10 each.

Lovely, Cathleen. I especially admire the looseness of your brushstrokes!
