Colorful Chairs - sold

This painting is in the Plein Air 2010 show at the Columbia Center for the Arts. It sold the first night at the opening of the show, with lots of interest in more commissioned paintings of the "famous chairs" at Rasmussen Farm, in Hood River OR. Rasmussen Farm is up for sale, so "the chairs" may be no more! Lots of artists and photographers stop and make their interpretation of the chairs. I will be doing more chair paintings, in different sizes.

I understand why this is such a popular subject. I love your format and the colors of all those chairs. Love it!

When I was a kid we had two of these chairs in the backyard; a powder blue and a kind of dirty green one. they were metal and heavy. If you pulled one up to the end of the picnic table, you were sure to scrape your knees on the cross beam.
That was a good memory till I remembered scraping my knees. Sure is a nice painting. I can see why it sold
