I painted a group of small paintings for the upcoming art show at the Columbia Center for the Arts, The Blues. This is one of the paintings that I decided to put online for sale. The show reception opens next week Friday, February 1, 6-8pm at the Columbia Center for the Arts in Hood River, Oregon.

Clementines

Gotta get back in the painting groove!
I was really getting into the "grays" in this one, the contrast between intense orange and turquoise (complementary colors) and all the grays in-between.

My Favorite Tea Pot - sold

This is really my favorite teapot! I was really working to get the feeling of that round fiestaware teapot in this painting.
The turquoise of the teapot and rich cadmium yellow plate, are nice complements to each other in this composition. I'm using neutral grays to balance and bring out the contrast between the bright colors and the neutrals.

I took some time off for the holidays, but I'm back at the Daily Painting groove now. My husband and I did a lot of skiing and relaxing over the holidays, I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!
