I love this aqua colored fiestaware cream pitcher... I painted this entirely with my langnickel5590 sz30 flat brush. It gives a very loose feel to paintings. I got a comment from someone asking what brushes I use...

I had fun painting the Red Fizz with less detail. I am a big fan of Peggy Kroll Roberts's still life paintings, and she says that she repainted a subject 10 times before she got over the details. She is an inspiration to me.

My Warhol Apples - sold

My cousin made a comment, that the format of these paintings reminds her of Andy Warhol paintings. I hadn't realized it, but they do! Not that Warhol ever painted apples... but I like the format, of 4 things on the canvas.

You have to be kind of minimalist with the brushstrokes on glass. The reflections on glass are a lot of fun to paint, they just pop the glass out of the background.

This was an interesting project, someone asked me if I would paint a small version of a larger painting that I did a few years ago, to fit a frame they already have - 7 3/8 inch width by 5 3/4 inch. I left for a couple of days to get inspired, in Portland OR. Lots of cool things in Portland to see and do! The Portland Art Museum has some great paintings to see. Portland has some very cool coffeeshops. One coffeeshop that I loved was Random Order, on Alberta St, it is kind of random, like the name. They serve pies! Sweet pies, savory pies, I didn't know how much I liked pies until I had their Coconut Cream Pie. Cupcakes are out, pies are in.
